Check the account and amount first

Personal Rewards and Business Rewards use separate accounts. Under the personal program terms, additional cardholders cannot redeem the account holder's points. The business terms allow either a consolidated balance or individual points records; an authorised rewards administrator may manage a consolidated balance. Confirm who controls the points before arranging a business redemption.

Use the Velocity membership belonging to the eligible rewards holder. Review the member number and spelling of the account name before submitting. If the business account is held in a company name, ask ANZ which nominated person may receive the points; do not assume any employee's Velocity account is eligible.

Velocity's ANZ page gives a 2,000-point minimum, two-point increments and up to five business days for the base transfer. This timing does not promise that a particular reward seat will still be available.

A standard transfer, without a bonus

Suppose you need another 10,000 Velocity Points for a booking you have priced. At the standard rate, 20,000 ANZ Reward Points produces 10,000 Velocity Points. That uses a valid transfer amount and leaves no fractional point to round.

Work backwards from the shortfall after checking all travellers and sectors. Moving an entire bank balance to cover a small gap gives up other redemption choices. Use the transfer calculator for your amount, then check the bank's final confirmation.

Make a manual transfer

Use the published transfer instructions alongside this outline if a menu label differs in your account.

1. Open your Rewards card in the ANZ app or Internet Banking and follow its points balance into the rewards account. Business Rewards customers use their business rewards portal.
2. Choose the airline-redemption area, then Velocity. Enter the number of ANZ Reward Points you want to use.
3. Supply your Velocity membership details. Review the source amount, destination points and recipient before the final redemption confirmation.
4. If you decide to proceed, save the confirmation. Check both balances afterwards and contact ANZ if the points have not arrived after the published processing window.

A pending conversion does not reserve a seat. Have an acceptable alternative if the original flight disappears, and allow time for the full transfer before committing to other non-refundable travel.

Set up regular automatic redemptions

In the same Velocity redemption area, choose the automatic option and enter your membership details, start date and schedule. ANZ lists monthly, three-monthly, six-monthly and annual schedules. Choose a schedule that fits how you use points. Regular transfers reduce the need to remember the task, but each conversion commits those points to Velocity. Review the arrangement if your travel plans, card or promotion eligibility change.

The August and September 2026 bonus is conditional

The dated campaign terms describe a 15% manual bonus requiring eligible transfers in both August and September, or a 20% automatic bonus with enrolment and continued-participation conditions. Existing automatic participants at the campaign cutoff are excluded. New-card bonuses and other offers can also exclude a transfer. A first manual transfer in September does not satisfy the two-month condition.

For illustration, an eligible 20,000-point transfer at 2:1 would produce 10,000 base Velocity Points plus 1,500 at a 15% bonus, or 2,000 at 20%. These are separate alternatives. The standard calculator excludes both because it cannot establish your eligibility.

The general terms say bonus points arrive by 31 October 2026, while the ANZ-specific text contains an earlier, inconsistent date. Confirm the applicable terms with Velocity before relying on a bonus for a booking. This campaign ends on 30 September 2026; check the offer page for any later campaign.

Check earning changes separately from transfers

ANZ's announced changes introduce spending caps for some Rewards cards from 28 October 2026, affecting eligible purchases in statements issued on or after 28 November. The notice does not announce a change to this 2:1 transfer rate. A lower future earning rate can still change how long it takes to collect the balance you need.
