Separate the destination from the connection

Compare own-airline and partner products
The Singapore Airlines award chart uses defined regions and applies to its specified product. Scoot or a partner flight does not automatically inherit the Singapore Airlines Saver amount.
Use the airline directory to discover historical operators from your Australian gateway, including low-cost carriers. Their current schedules, rewards arrangements and baggage products must be checked separately.
A through-ticket comparison
Suppose a hypothetical itinerary to Bangkok through Singapore costs 65,000 miles plus $180. Two separately booked sectors cost 60,000 miles plus $230, with a $150 overnight stay. The separate option saves 5,000 miles but adds $200 and an additional recovery problem if schedules change.
The points-value calculator makes the cash trade-off explicit. A small points saving need not justify a less reliable journey. If you actually want a few days in Singapore, assess it as a stopover, including its award rules and hotel budget.
Confirm the whole trip
Search all travellers in the required cabin, inspect each sector and check transfer time before moving points. For late arrivals, compare onward transport and hotel check-in options. Use current government advice for entry or transit requirements applicable to your passport.
Save a second acceptable date or gateway. The best result is the combination of points, cash, timing and practical arrangements that completes your holiday, rather than the smallest isolated chart number.
